Wolf scoreboard.

I can envision that!! Seriously thinking of upgrading my Springfield XD-9 to XD-45. Don't think 9mm is gonna cut the mustard on those critters!
Between that and the BARRETT STYLE 270WSM you mentioned on the Lolo pack thread you should have it covered. LOL. Me I'm sticking with my Springfield XDM 9, and not legal in California magazines with +P+ loads. I don't want any of them going away without a memento. I've got a 6.5-284 barrel coming for my WInchester 100, and an MPI stock. The 2-8x Leupold Mark 4 got here this week. Won't be ready for this year but it's in motion.

Opportunity exist to comment on the Montana plan to extend the wolf season. I'm going to learn to post a link one day, but until then go to fwp.mt.gov. then select hunting, and the comment section is easy to find and use. Also you can comment on allowing sportsmen to fill the depredation needs.
Suppliers of Idaho traps say sales are up. Idaho F&G says tag sales are down $3 million from 2008 peak. Ultimately $ speak louder than words-again.

All things considered, i wish Idaho would keep all their dogs .I live in southern Oregon about 30 miles from the California border, and we now have a pack of wolves that came from Idaho.I have seen them right in the middle of the Klamath Marsh Ntl wildlife refuge.During a state elk hunt several other hunters have seen them. One of the hunters took pictures. When we talked to the game warden he stated no wolves were in the area. Two days later the local news paper came out with the report. In my opinion we need to kill them before we have the problems of the other states.GOOD LUCK TO ALL HUNTERS KILLING THEM.

the talk around a small town close to the dogs is that one of the ranchers in silver lake oregon has shot one that was running his cattle. we all wish him the best.hope he disposed of the carcass so no one can find it.

Just about every hunter I run into in the woods talks about the wolf problem and how to solve it. I ran into a hunter yesterday that said he knew someone who took old lawnmower blades and sharpened both edges on one end and hammered them in the ground deep enough to prevent wolves from getting them out. Then he would paint the blade with chicken blood. He said the wolves would lick the blade as long as they tasted blood and could not tell the difference between the chicken blood and their own and they licked until they bled to death.

The chicken blood thing may work great other places, but around here the wolves will not even eat gut piles if there are living elk and deer. Wolves can cover an unbelievable amount of ground which I heard tale of but did not truley believed untill I started following them with intent to kill and keep.

Keep Whacking and Stacking

I am going to Idaho because I am done playing the montana wolf hunt game!

Idaho 138-Montana 76! Wouldn't it be great if a big outfit like Cabelas would have a contest where the entry fee was a current wolf kill. Bring them in and hang them by the nose down the centerline until the contest closes. Pull the name from entries for the winner. These big outfits making money from the sport need to step up here and there.
Prize could be something like SSS rifle the Idaho sheriff raffled for like a volunteer services
sold a lot of tickets from all over the country.

Here's one of the MT woofs. . .

How much would a wolf like that weigh, and how many are usually running in a pack when they are hunting?
