lightbulbcan anyone provide me with some loading data for the 338 Norma please? I want to have one built and I can find brass and dies for it, but no data. I see there are a few of you out there already shooting them. C'mon guys share the wealth. I have become enamored with mid-large bore in recent years. 338,358,9.3,458,475,500, and 510 cals. Although the last animal I harvested was a Moose in Norway taken with a 6.5X55.(obscure regulations prevented me from transporting my 450Marlin,and 9.3B&M with me).

Here is a link to the Norma data from their reloading page. You can use a powder burn rate chart to cross reference the Norma powder burn speeds with what you can get in your area. With a call or an email to the powder Mfg you can get some starting loads and then you are on your way.

338 Norma Magnum - Norma

My Norma likes 87 gr. Retumbo, fed 215M, WITH A Berger 300 gr.This was 2720 out of my 26 inch tube

I have a long neck 338 Norma that I call a 338XR. I have the best results from Retumbo. I started at 85 grs. & worked up to 92.5grs. The accuracy was extremely good so I stopped there. I also had pretty good results with Ramshot Magnum. I was hoping RL 25 would work out but I wasn't all that happy with the results in the accuracy dept. That is not to say that RL 25 will not work, it's just that Retumbo worked very well right from the git go.
