I saw an advertisement for these and was wondering if anybody had tried them in a 300 RUM and what were your results. I haven't read about them at all, can they be used for hunting? Thanks

I have my suspicions that they are not going to hold up to high velocity and fast twists. I have problems with the 6mm 115s, and the 7mm 180s going poof. The 210s have been very reliable even in an 8T thus far, so maybe it will not be a problem. I never tried the gen 1 300gr 338s because I suspected they would not hold up to 338AM speeds. I have the same suspicion about the gen 2 338s, but am hopeful. But I am tired of buying bullets to learn that they are useless to me. Hopefully someone will guinea pig them and post some results.

So new it hard to tell unless someone here got some for testing. The add says they are optimized for the 300 win mag. So given its a 230g bullet I would guess at 2700 FPS, at being the high end of what they can take but time will tell.

A 300rum will probably have no problem running them up to 3000fps so it should be interesting. I have a bunch of 225gr hornadys that I will taking out tomorrow for accuracy testing at 500yards.

Eddybo, at what velocity was the 180 coming apart? We have sent 100's at either side of 3200 with no problems from the 7mm-300 WM.

I would really like to try these out long range, I think my 300 RUM would push them really well, but I don't know if they could be used to hunt with.

Broz, I cannot give you a exact velocity, my chronograph was crapped out when I was working up the load. Closest I can figure is 3350ish working backwards from drops using the G7BC. It is a 7mm/338Lapua with a 8T kreiger, think I am loading 95.5grs of WC872.

I am pretty sure you are okay. I launched a bunch at similar velocities and twist without a problem. In fact I think you would be okay to at least 3300 with a 9T.

My 300RUM has a 1 in 10" twist, anyone have experience with this weight bullet in that barrel? The gun shoots real well with 180g Barnes and SMK.

My son, "Young-Gun" worked this load up for his 300 Win yesterday. It has a 1 in 10 27" Broughton. He shot this through my Oehler Chrono at 150 yards, prone off a bipod. Shot 1 and 3 are in the same oval hole. Mid day sun with some mirage too. He is now loading more for long range testing.

Michigan just approved using suppressors. I am planning on a CAN for this rifle with an integrated muzzle brake.
