Thinking of buying a point for my daughter. Question is, if I buy a youth point this year and the next (16 & 17 years old), will the points work when she's 18 or older? I'd like to get 3+ points for each of us to do a hunt within the next 3-5 years.

Your going to need more points in the near future if Game and Fish changes the allocation of tags to 90/10.
Correct, I'm just wondering if I'm wasting money on buying points now for my 16 year old daughter.

I am doing the same, and from what I understand points are points. I am doing it to give him a head start for the long run so he will not have to wait until he is 60 like I do to draw a prime unit. I also believe there is a different pool that the youth tags pull from for a higher preference, but not 100% on that one.

I would just give Wyoming game and fish a call and you will have a definitive answer. I agree with Polaris Doc and points should be points but I never assume anything from game agencies.
I'll call. There is nothing on the website or regs they I could find.

Yes, they will work when she is 18 years old, they only go away when she draws.
That's what I would think, but nice to hear that's how it works.

The points carry over but you can only buy points as a nonresident. Residents can only get points by being unsuccessful in a draw. You can buy points for 20 years to get a nce bull moose tag, which is smart to start young.
