I have a '86 win. 40/82 handed down from my great grandad. I'm not interested in selling it, just curious what it is worth?
So here's the kicker.....he "customized" it long ago. I believe it would have originaly came with an octogon barrell, and full length magazine? correct?
It now has a round barrell and half-lenght magazine.
I assume this majorly affects the vallue but I'm curious to know more about it.

Also...I had a box of ammo loaded by buffalo bore. the bullets are copper plated and the original bullets i have are lead. Am i safe to shoot the copper plated ammo? No preasure complications?
Thanks guys

Since I made the last post about the '86 40/82 I have noticed the Win. currently makes a model 1886 "Extra Light Rifle". It looks identical to the one I have.
Did Winchester make this model originaly? Could I have an Original extra light rifle?
