Had a buddy said that he shot one once - just like that! Funny thing though, hiking back out to his truck, he said that he tripped over his dog & somehow killed it!

It looks like it is a member or the Fisher, Mink, Matin family.
I have seen Fisher and Mink stand on there hind legs, Especially if there is another around, They either want to see better, Or look bigger as a warning to others around them.
A Fisher will travel a long way. When our Game Division restocked Fisher in West Virginia. They stocked some in Monongahela National Forest in Williams River, Tea creek area. 4 years later they got a tag back from a trapper in the Vermont/New Hampshire area.
