What is the one piece of hunting/shooting advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time

I've never hunted (city slicker) what are points everyone keeps mentioning.
Silvershade: "Points" refers to the number of tips on a set of antlers, but it also refers to the practice by gae departments in different states of giving you credit for having applied for a big game tag, but not being "drawn." So you apply for an elk tag, and you are not drawn by the game department, and they issue you one "point." Same thing for several years, until you have enough points to be competitive with other hunters who have also been collecting points. Supposed to give a little advantage to people who have consistently applied for a license to hunt a specific animal.
