What is a drop test for a chrono???

I was reading thru some old posts and they were talking about a drop test to check the chrono to see if it was operating properly. I have never heard this term. I did a search, and came up blank.

Could someone do a brief explanation?

Bill, that would be in reference to doing some shooting at a longer distance to see what the actual drop of the bullet is. Then take the actual drop and using the BC of the bullet you can see if the velocity the chrono gave you is in the ball park. So basically it is using a ballistic calculator to see if the velocity is matching up with actual drops.

I've not drop tested mine lately. However I have kicked the hell out of it. Broz is spot on (sure wish my smilies worked.)

The wind blew mine over the other day, only about a 30" drop. Seems to work as good now as it ever did.
