What about giving him a good deal but you get first chance at buying it back if he ever wants to sell it. The buy back price is what ever he pays for it. Just a thought have a awesome day

I've bought two rifles from individuals who felt the same way about rifles as you do yours, solid 3/4 + or - moa guns depending on your efforts that day, both of them asked to buy back there guns after building or buying different rigs, hard to put the Jeanie back in the bottle if the bottles at someone else's home, might make sure you don't have buyers remorse before getting rid of old dependable, dpmj has great idea to to leave the door open to retain what your letting go
