I took members advice and got a Tikka T3x Superlight in 7mm Rem Mag.
I had Gary Reeder Customs Guns (Flagstaff AZ) put a muzzle break and backup iron-sights on the barrel. Reeder's metal work was superb! His prices very fair. He was on time, and the rifle was done when he said it would be. Reeder was very responsive to questions and email. Great shop!
Full up with scope, sling, bi-pod, ammo - it weights in just over 8 pounds. Very packable for wilderness hunts. I have just over $2,000 - gun, Vortex Razor, supplies,and gunsmith.
The Tikka is living up to its reputation. I'm still experimenting with loads - but I'm getting .400" to .750 moa results.
