Turret Reliability Improvement

Around 20 years ago, when turrets were not what they are today, a guy with vast experience in this field told me "Left and Down". If you need to go right, go 2-3 clicks more than you need, then come back and end going left. If you need to go up, go 2-3 clicks more than you need, and end going down. Horizontal first, then vertical.

When I adjust I click past and come back, blame years and years of doing it.

I have S&B , US Optic,Leupold and a few other quality optics of various ages makes and then let's not forget the mechanical mounts for the Unertl and Lyman Scopes.

A scope is a mechanical device, it needs to be worked, to free up the works. Same as our rifle, it sure didn't start out with a smooth as silk bolt throw and a crisp trigger, but after a few hundred rounds or thousands in some cases ( and a barrel or 3) there we go.

I have went to one of various Christmas tree reticals and except for extreme range leave the turrets alone for the most part, but still dial on occasion.
