To thread or not to thread the muzzle ...

What about using a clamp on recoil suppressor. There are several manufacturers ranging from $90 to $200. They might not look as sleek but can be removed.

My friend read this thread and accepts that it is NOT a collector's item because it has been shot. He is leaning towards threading it now since he wants to shoot it more comfortably.
IMHO even if it was collectable it would be a mute point if he wants to shoot it a lot. If he's like us and shoots then that barrel will be changed out while he owns it. Thread it and bang away!

On a rifle, let's say R700 Sendero (any of the chamberings or generations), does it add value or hurt the collectors' value (not sure if it is), asking for a friend. A simple yes or no will suffice.

ADDED: My original post might be too generalized, as reflected by the 1st 6 responses. I understand the collector's value might be personal in nature. How about R700 Sendero in 7MM STW? I am not sure how many rounds through, but it has been shot, but it sounds like it is in very good condition.
I have a feeling you made this post because I launched a clamp-on brake to Canada lol

I think it increases functional value and hurts resale a little.
