Hey all,
I have Weatherby that came with a cap for the threaded barrel. I don't anticipate using any accessory like a brake or other and would like it to move as little as possible. Any thoughts as to using low strength threadlocker? thanks and regards

Shouldn't be a problem. Try Purple first, perhaps?

If it loosens, then use the Blue strength locktite.

I've used both types, in that order. The Purple didn't hold a muzzle brake like I wanted on one of my rifles. This rifle only had about 6 or 7 threads engagement.

I think with 10 or more threads engagement, the Purple would be strong enough to secure it. Especially for a simple thread protecting cap. Just clean and degrease the threads well beforehand.
