The 169s from Sierra are fantastic, they take up where the 168s leave off past 600!

Love them as well. Hard to find at the moment.

My Ruger American Ranch with 16.5" bbl likes both the 168 A-Max and the 168 LRX and Varget pushes them. 45gr IIRC. I think it will shoot better than the pics as I am using a Primary Arms 1-8x24 scope with the ACSS reticle, so not a lot of magnification or a definitive "precision" reticle. But it is just right for a truck/hog/varmint gun.
To be honest I haven't tried the 168 SMKs in this rifle. Fairly certain it would do well also. It does like the 168 FGMM ammo, but not as much as the hand loads.

My 700 LTR. I found it used at a local gun shop almost twenty years ago now. Only thing I changed was the stock. I put it in the hs police stock that it's in now. It always loved 168GMM.

This group was right after putting the rifle back together. I had robbed the bolt for another build and it sat as a barreled action in my safe for years. Low right shot was first round after boresighting. Adjusted and sent the next four through the same hole.

The rifle shot amazing out to 600 but it started throwing crazy fliers after 700. This is the rifle as it sits today. Same stock, rebedded with steel bed, I trued the reciever and put a 1:9 lilja on it, finished at 20"
Chambered with an m852 match reamer.

Yeah, I like my 308's.

Sierra has a new 175 gameking out this year. Same dimensions and bc as the 175 smk. I've never shot the 175's but I'm going to pick some of them up to try.

They also have a 175 tipped match king that shoots well and wrecks animals.

Haven't chrono'd that load out of my 20" lilja but my 16" chrome lined MWS runs it right at 2,550. And loves it. That's been consistently good ammo for me.

They're rarely in stock anywhere though. I've recently discovered the 77 tmk. That's a fine little bullet.

Haven't chrono'd that load out of my 20" lilja but my 16" chrome lined MWS runs it right at 2,550. And loves it. That's been consistently good ammo for me.

I picked up a Rem 700 special purpose police in .308 .......

I shot one of those when I was on the PD Sniper Team. It shot .308 Federal 168 GMM loads really well. .192" at 100 yards was the best 5 shot group I managed.

I get 2605 with a 168gr Accubond LR from my 16" 308 with Benchmark

Proof research 1:10 with a 308 "match" reamer but pretty run of the mill overall. I'm running it suppressed so that gives me a little bit more juice but even without it I think I was just shy of 26. Here is the garmin deal.

Nice. I ordered some of tge hybrid cases from American reloading. I'm going to lean on them a little and see what a 308 will do.
