Hey everyone, this is my first post anywhere and have enjoyed lurking and learning. I have done long range shooting and hunting with stock guns until now. Below is the rifle I have ordered. I will be using it for long range hunting and predator hunting.

*Lawton barrel 26" ss with #5 med heavy contour. I will Duracoat.
*Lawton action (barreled action from Lawton) 7000 SS
*No brake
*HS precision stock. It is black web and is an African model due to barrel
*I am trying the quick clip set up but may upgrade soon
*6mm-284 w/ Lapua brass
*Timmeny trigger (had a nightmare getting it) 2 lb
*Leopold Mark 4 6-25 mil dot reticle
*Seekins bases with 20moa base from Lawton
*Doing much of the work myself. barreled action done by Lawton
*Weight unknown since still! waiting for Lawton
*$2,300 approximately

I had a terrible experience with timney on 2 triggers. Nothing they said was true and overcharged on shipping (they promised free shipping due to the problems then sent the triggers 2 days apart and charged me for both shipping costs!). I will not ever buy from them again! (the second trigger was for a rem 788 22-250 which shot .25moa with a bad trigger and have not shot it yet but feels nice and is a hard to find trigger)

I ordered the Lawton barreled action 7 months ago and was told 3 months by Mr. Lawton. I waited 6 months before I made my first call to them since I understood there would be disruption from the passing of Mr. Lawton. I was told it would ship the next week. I have been told this 3 times now. Yesterday I was told it is finished and will ship Monday. I hope this is true since I am very excited to receive it and will be ordering several more if I am satisfied.

I would appreciate any guidence on this set up since this is my first go around on a custom setup. Thank you for a great forum, I will let you know how it turns out.

After consulting Jannie Els, the South African F Class open Team Captain, I will be building a 7mm/.284Win. Also inspired by Charles Ballard.

* Broughton Barrel 5C, 32" Straight Contour 1,250" .
* BAT MB Action, Spiral fluted bolt.
* Precision Rifle & Tool Stock Ballard Free Riding for F-Class Open.
* Optics: NF 12-42X56 NXS.
* Ret N1-R2.
* Jewell trigger set between 5 and 1,5 ounces.
* NF Unimount
* Bruce Baer Front Rest.

See you at the next World Champs.LOL!gun)
