Suggestions please... want to turn rem 700 VS 22-250 into 22" barrel .308

I am new here so i hope you can pardon the rookie question. As the title mentions, i have a Remington 700 VS 22-250 that i would like to turn into a (approx) 22" barreled 308.

What would be the best way to go about this? What all would be involved?

I was thinking the HS Precision stock could be retained and i could send the barreled action out and have a new 308 barrel installed. Is it that simple?

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

Yep,

It's that simple, but I'd also have the action "blueprinted" or accurized and a trigger job done as well.
