Stockeys long range/varmint

My barrel is a #5 and it think it fits up to sendero. When I say it fits nicely in the channel, I meant even gap on each side, but it does have a little room left for a larger contour. Not the lightest stock out there!......Rich

Sounds like a good way to go. Sir, have you seen or tried the new Magpul M700 stock ? They now have it in long action and I like the adjustability features, at least on paper, I havn't seen one.

I am trying to decide if the Stocky's or the Magpul would be best for a M700 I have.
Thanks

I have not checked them out but have been hearing a lot about them lately.

After reading about the Magpul stock and Elkaholic's stock, I thought I would add something. I appreciate you gentlemen showing us these stocks.

I purchased two of Boyd's laminate tacticool stocks. One for a SA Rem and one for a LA Rem. Both fit into the stocks quite well and I also didn't have to bed the action. I know that it should have been bedded afterall it is just wood and the inletting cannot be perfect. Regardless of this fact, the 30 BR and the 7 Rem mag shot excellent groups. I torqued both actions at 40 in/lb front and 35 in/lb rear. For $125 or so shipped they are a great deal. The also can be drilled here and there to lighten them up. They now call it the Pro Varmint.

SA Rem featured here:

Or you can select one of their many laminate colors for an additional $15 to 16.50 more. There are additional customizing features:

I agree with the Boyds. I have this featherweight hunter thumbhole on my 7s savage. It is pillar bedded and shoots GREAT!

I purchased one a while back for my REM 700 new build. The stock is sort of on the heavy side but, I like that. I feel that the stock is well worth the price. Before I sent my action in for a new barrel I placed it on the stock and (to me) it seemed to fit really nice. I didn't notice any kind of twist or movement when I cinched the action down. It just settled in and didn't move.

Which one, the stocky's or Magpul ?
