Springfield 2020 Waypoint

Kind of surprised I've not seen any discussion here on this new entry into the US Rifle Market.

Considering the features, Sub MOA gurantee, caliber/cartridge offerings, price, and the fact it's the first bolt action rifle actually built by SA in it's modern incarnation I'd think it may well find a place in the market.

Have any of you yet had your hands on one? Bought one? Interested to hear of any experiences positive or negative.

I handled one recently, the stock seemed very rigid. I also looked at a CA, the Waypoint seemed more substantial.
It seems to offer alot for the money.

I'd really like to get my hands on one and give it a workout.

I'm hoping they'll expand the production to include some in 300PRC sooner rather than later.

If they do I may have to reconsider a build I have planned later this year.

I've been trying to actually get my hands on one, but that's a pretty elusive beast!

I spoke to the barrel manufacturer about a couple of years back when this project was still in the "hush hush" phase of development and I was very intrigued.

I do think they have a ton of sought after features and is a pretty substantial out-of-the box option for those that don't have the time or money for a full-blown custom.

I wish they offered them in a wider variety of calibers, but from what I've seen they are backlogged on just trying to get what they currently offer to market so I doubt we'll see new calibers added in the immediate future.

Looks interesting, and at some point I'd love to try one.

I'd also like to hear some real world reports about these from guys that are actually shooting them.

. From what I can see that should be one of the best factory offerings out there . I don't see much of a gamble.

Well they must have paid attention to the partnership between Hornady and Ruger and how they rolled out the rifles chambered in the new 6.5 offerings.

They are definitely going where the highest demand is in the market to make a big splash and to start recouping what must be a whole lot of money they tied up in new production facilities.

One of my shooting partners has one and I've shot it a fair amount, it was actually a gun that I had ordered thru our LGS and by the time it came in I had chosen a different direction, so he grabbed it instead of me. It is exactly what you are all thinking it is, a fine rifle in that class of gun, smooth, well built, and shoots very consistently in that 1/2moa area. Buy with confidence, if you can find one.

Yes, a long action in 300 PRC would be great as well as a few other long action rounds.

I handled one at a local CalRanch store in Sierra Vista, Az. It was very nice, cycled nice, nice stock and bottom metal and finish was great. Seems like a steal at the price.

not sure today, but when we ordered that one about 18 months age it was right at $1800 and some change, total…. Don't remember MSRP

The radial muzzle brake is horrible for prone shots. When will these companies learn?
