Re: Marlin Guide Gun .450 Marlin

Thanks, I am sure whoever buys it will be shooting you an email
Thanks. I just found it again in my gun room. There are two set of dies, Hornady & RCBS which is new and never used as well as loaded ammo and brass/New and onced fired. If you sell the rifle i would appreicate it if you pass this along. Thanks, Rick Sr.

Re: Marlin Guide Gun .450 Marlin

Long gone. Thanks

I think the new Remlin/Marlin factory dropped the .450 Marlin version of the 1895 Guide Guns (GGs) because the new GGs can't be trusted at .450 Marlin SAAMI published pressures because of workmanship and quality control issues.
The SAAMI maximum pressures for the venerable .45-70 GOVT are much lower because of the numerous legacy Trapdoor firearms shooting .45-70 ammo that are still in active use.
We have all been "hot rodding" our .45-70 1895s for years because the JM Marlin 1895 actions were strong and reliable but I wouldn't do it with a gun made in the new Remlin factory unless I had a good gunsmith check it from back to front.
If a recently made Remlin 1895 blows up because of defects and poor workmanship (very common) Remlin has the published .45-70 GOVT SAAMI maximum chamber pressure specs to hide behind and shield them from lawsuits.
They'll just say, "You shouldn't have fired hot (above the published SAAMI maximum pressure) ammo in it."
