I had this thread in another category and it wasn't getting mush action so I decided to move it here.

I just got a good deal on a Choate Ultimate Sniper stock and was wanting to know if I should skim bed my Remington 700 .308? If so, is it a different proceedure than the standard glass bedding job?

The procerure is about the same depending on how well the block fits the action or is it a true V block?

With the HS stock and others with the amluminum blocks I like to rough the surface up reay well with some40-60 grit sand paper and drill a seried of small divits with a 1/4" drill bit , this allows the bedding compound to fiorm a solid lock with the aluminum and will help keep it from peeling out in the realy thin areas.
