Sizing problems, looking for some advise.

I have a brand new set of Lee pistol 9mm dies. I have cleaned the dies and set up the carbide sizing die per what the manual says. I'm getting scuffs on the brass and wondering what it's from and if I'm doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the resizing die the carbide type? Did you try lubing the case to see if it makes a difference?

Yes, it says carbide resizing die. I tried with Hornady case lube and the same thing happened. I'm thinking there might be a bur and it needs polished?

I cleaned it out with a brass brush and ran it back through the sonic cleaner. Still running into the same issue. Will have to give them a call.

New pistol brass? Once fired in another pistol? Once fired in yours?

Does it happen when resizing new unfired brass? Do you see what looks like brass shavings at the base of the once fired brass?

Haven't tried new brass but yes it looks like brass shavings. Not a lot but noticeable.

I had the same issue with the "shavings" and Lee dies when I loaded some 9mm cartridges. Turned out my load was a wee bit too hot. Reduced the powder charge and the problem went away.
