Shooter App Question

Do you use a kestrel? You can change to da vs pressure vs absolute. I tend to run absolute as a default as I've been doing this long enough I know the general rule for elevation and absolute pressure. My kestrel will give me da or absolute and my Leica 3200 gives me absolute. The fewer things I have to input the better off I am as well

I had a lot of fun trying to figure out why the Zeiss Hunting app wouldn't agree with my Zeiss RF binos. I'd input all the local station info into the app, and upload the ballistics to the binos. But then when I'd use the binos, they wouldn't match the ballistics from the app. After a lot of head scratching, I happened to notice one of settings in the ballistics app changed when I had the binos synced up. A little bluetooth icon showed up "Get absolute pressure." I clicked on it, and it input the pressure from the weather station in the binos. Bingo! Everything matched up. I looked high and low everywhere for user info related to that situation, but couldn't find anything anywhere.

I do use a Kestrel, thanks for the tip.

go to settings and enable density altitude. Basically same as kestrel uses. Then before you hit calculate on your solution pull the weather info by hitting the weather button. When I don't have my kestrel with me I do this(if I have service ). Been running shooter for close to 10 years. It works great. All inputs being equal it gives the EXACT solute the kestrel does, except for aerodynamic jump.

This is awesome. Thank you

Where I am you really can't use weather station data reliably. Just use absolute at your location and temp and you'll be gold. Other option is da from the kestrel but I'd use which is fastest for you. Me, I use absolute as it comes up in my lrf and also I can get within .5 by knowing my elevation and corresponding pressure. It's pretty linear.

Pulled weather from the local station with density altitude off and with it on. Both give me exactly the same 6.7mil to 1k with my 6 dasher. Which is correct every time I shoot +- a little for summer /winter . Using my kestrel after swinging I get 6.8 . Prob more accurate at 6.8 because it's my actual weather. But its CLOSE.
