I was just wondering if 300 yard is plenty for running a seating depth test or should i go farther.
Thank you I will just try 100 out.I have been able to see seating depth test results at 100 yards pretty accurately. I think it is a good distance to test at as the wind usually has less effect.
I Have the place to shoot to 1200I would go to the max distance you intend on shooting, yeah you can see a seating change st 100 just like powder but I've had what I thought were really good loads at 100 fall apart at 500.

Nonsense. Testing powder loads at distance is a good thing. Seating depth is not. Don't confuse the two.I would atleast get to 500 then when your happy try it at 1200 or whatever your comfortable with.
Just make sure conditions are good the farther you go out the more influence it has, wind flags are a good idea.
So farther the better
Where do you usually start like 40 thousands off the landsNonsense. Testing powder loads at distance is a good thing. Seating depth is not. Don't confuse the two.
To each his own. Remember to test for yourself to verify any recommendations and see what ultimately works for you;
then get back to us. Nickel to a doughnut, you will have better seating depth testing results at 100 yards....
Use the Berger method for seating depth test.Where do you usually start like 40 thousands off the lands
