Scope tracking ????????

i was wandering how you guys check your scope to see what it actually tracks .for example, my scope is a 6.5-20-50 leupold it has 1/4 inch adj. In detail how did you check yours is this done at 25 yrds or 100yrds i've heard others say that you need to know the exact adjustments your scope has, in order to get the best results with ballistic software .... Thanks in advance for the insight...
