I have a Ruger M77 MKII, it is completely stock aside from a trigger job which has taken it down to 2lbs and perfectly crisp, and I have floated the barrel. It's .223 and shoots .25" groups with my handloads.
I hear a lot of bad things about rugers, but I've never actually seen a bad one or met someone who had a bad one.
Also the stainless rugers do not rust, unlike stainless remingtons, brownings, tikkas etc.
