Remington barrel swaps

Oops. It should have been a model 710. I bought this 710 as barely used in a 30 06 and would like to Rebarrel it to a 25 06 or 6.5 06. Bad idea or good?

The 710 uses press-fit barrels, rather than threaded ones like the 700 uses. The 710 was an early, failed attempt at a budget rifle by Remington. It was never intended to be re-barreled and is effectively a disposable rifle. If you want to do a build of some kind, do yourself a favor and start with a decent action/rifle. The 710 doesn't qualify.

Thank you. Based on the quality of the components, I had a feeling it was going to be bad news.
