Today I just figured something out about my rifle that makes me not so happy. I bought a 700P from a local consignment shop. I have always just single shot my gun cause I have only sighted it in and shot paper. I went to load my magazine today and the rounds will not stay. It looks like its factory but Im thinking someone had it opened up maybe for a detachable mag or something. the bottom metal looks factory too. My question is do people open this up normally and if so what can I do to not have a single shot. Thanks.

first whats your C.O.A.L. it may be to long

second is their a single feed plate on top of the mag follower.

third your sure the mag box is in place right.have found that some people put it back upside down.

if all of these are not your problem then I am out of what it may be.

Ok so I figured it out the previous owner ground down the tabs on the follower so it is now a single shot. All I need is a new follower. Anyone know where I can get a long action follower
