I am sure it is the 1 in 12 twist its what remington uses on their 308 rifles

in my experience these 12 twist R700s shoot the 175 smks very well too
I can confirm the 12 twist on these 700 VS rifles shoots the 175's very well. I had one (a friend of mine now owns it) and would shoot factory loaded 175's into one ragged hole.

The 5R Rem has a 1:11 twist, but I think the VS were 1:12.

Good luck with the sale- my 5R 20" is a tack driver. I was banging steel at 400 and 500 yds yesterday with it.
