I need to know if the LTR is a good choice for a LR deer and hog rifle.
Most shots will be across open fields up to 700 yds.
Has anyone used this rifle for hunting on open ground?
How does it shoot right out of the box?
I have a 7 STW but want a rifle with less recoil and muzzle blast.
All help appreciated.

I have one and it has shot great. I went with that over other choices because there was nothing to replace later on. The H-S stock is really comfortable and has two swivel studs. The 20" barrel is nice for my style of hunting - in rugged terrain. I wonder though if - at 700 yards - you might lose a little more velocity than desired.
