Rem 700 LA Magnum REMAGE build what caliber

Ok i have a Rem 700 LA magnum waiting on some company. Thinking of building a 300 WSM for ELK out to 800 yards.

Would you build this rifle using that caliber or something else? Looking for input before i pull the trigger on the barrel.

338 Max. 3000' with a 250 Berger, 265 LRAB at 2900'. Same length as 300 wsm with more performance and better head stamped brass. Good to 1200 yards or a hammer as a carry. Dont need a long barrel for good performance either.
