Hehehe….okay. I have actually heard of people trying that with mercury. The idea of a liquid core as dense as lead just about is, well, violent. And it'd be a truly poisonous round.

But the result is just a solid lead/mercury amalgam within hours of adding it. I think the resulting material was actually harder than lead.

Getting closer to the lands isn't always the best approach to accuracy. In my .308, I found that loading to magazine length with 165gr Accubonds put the bullet .165" off the rifling. Interestingly enough, it also proved to be more accurate there than at any length that was closer to the rifling.
