Painting a stock

I'm sure others here have more experience but I've used duracoat on stocks. In my experience it's much more forgiving than cerikote. I've switched to cerikote on metal but I would say for a stock it may not matter.
I use an adhesion promoter for plastic stocks but I'm not sure if you need that for what you have.
Hopefully lance will swing by and comment.

Here are a couple I've done with Rustoleum (Testors). One is ABS and one is carbon fiber. Its easy. Prep is important.

I would stay away from acrylic based paints and use enamel based. Enamel is more durable. I have used both for my model planes and the acrylic tends to scratch easier, but I don't use a clear coat either. Just something for you guys to consider.
