Hello there my fellow shooter, hope all is well. I am a seasoned hunter that enjoys life and the outdoors. My question is I have a ruger 1978 . 243 m 77 tang safety bolt rifle. I just purchased 698.28 reloading supply. I been hearing about having the bullet touch the grooves. I took a empty case and put a bullet in racked the bolt 20 times slowly, keep getting 2.719 on the measuring gage. But the online hodgon powder says max c.o.l 2.650 ? .. Why is that ?. If I seat the bullet touching the lands or grooves would that be dangerous ??.. Does anyone have the same measurements ?
