New to me 338-06 wildcat, looking for some help please

there was a 280 RCBS that was a 280AI but with a 30 degree shoulder. This is most likely a 338 based off the 280 RCBS case.

I would get a chamber cast to confirm.

The 280 RCBS is basically the Fred Huntington version of the 280 Ackley Improved, but with a 30° shoulder, whereas the 280 Ackley has a 40° shoulder.

Shane what length barrel do you have, mine is 21.5" iwould guess your is 22-24 getting those velocities

22". Handy in the VA woods.
