New Mexico Draw Results are in

Well I finally got lucky and drew an Elk tag in New Mexico! My brother in-law and I drew a 2nd Archery season Bull Elk, September 15-24 in unit 36. Really pumped for this hunt, going to have to start training earlier and hit it harder for prep on this hunt. Glad I have been keeping up on my hiking and cardio during the off season!!

Nada for me, but my brother drew 2B Late Mule Deer and Rhodes Oryx. He is one lucky dude.

Thanks. The 7mm Sherman MAX will get some good use this year with my bull tag and my sons cow tag. Should be a very good time.

Second rifle Elk unit 36, Ruidoso.

Not sure what to say or think at this point. Applied late on a whim and ended up solo as my hunting partner had application issues. He will really be bummed when he hears this.

Now to start the hunt planning and UP exercise regime.

better get in good shape.....36 is pretty rugged country, especially where those elk hole up that late in the season.

I also drew 16D !! What is the terrain like? Elevation about 5000-6000 ?? Do you know much about the area? I called my guide, haven't heard back yet.
