I'm building a 300WSM for packing and I'm on the fence on which barrel manufacturer to use.
1- Obermeyer with his D-3 #4 to finish at 24" wait time??
2-Bartlein. #3 Heavy Sporter to finish at 24" 6-7 month wait
I have a Bartlein on my 270WSM and I like it, but Obermeyer does have a certain admiration about it.

Any thoughts?

You didn't say what twist, bugholes.com has a Bartlein 1-10 in stock but at 27"
You could get an in stock barrel and have your smith cut and crown to avoid the long wait.

I've used 3- Obermeyer barrels. All in the AMU contour (heavier than you'll want). 6.5, 7mm and 30 cal. The 30 cal I had put on a Defiance Deviant action in .300wm is easily the most accurate rifle I've ever fired. While Boots' factory fluting leaves a lot to be desired, I'll take an Obermeyer any day, all day. Not that I have a problem with my Kreigers or old school Shilen Select Match. It's just that Obermeyer barrels have yet to let me down. So, that's what I run and what I recommend.
