Mine is not only noisy but loves to turn on lights, and I am very light sensitive when sleeping. For some reason it is impossible for her to go into the bathroom, close the door, THEN turn on a small light in the back. Nope, it is turn all lights on and leave door open, then slowly close it to a crack open.
 
Notice I said sleep in separate . After 34 years of marriage and 2 bed hog hounds it works to have a little extra room .

I think your wife and mine must be related, mine does the exact same thing
