Monstrous blacktail taunting me

That is a beautiful big Blacktail buck!! Looks like he is hot on that doe and may have his genetics running around for years to come. Funny how they show up just after season. Smart old Blacktails are hard to hunt and hard to kill. Best of luck next season. Cheers, Jason
 
We had one similar to that when I was stationed at Vandenberg AFB in California way back in 1990-91. Several people were hunting him but I never heard if anyone getting him. He used to stay near the runway and wound cone eat the grass around the buildings and slink off into the heavy brush by morning.
 
Couple city bucks. I've seen taller and wider around 5000' elevation but the mass these city bucks have is crazy. Seems there's more mass up north but bigger racks the farther south you go. Average blacktail around here may not get wide or tall but they're thick. View attachment 510753View attachment 510754
