I went last Sunday afternoon to do a quick set for a coyote. I set up my Foxpro 416B call about 80 yds out in front of my stand, which is up on a bluff. I like this spot because you can get shots out to 500 yds and I have taken several coyotes there. I called for about 30 min with Red Fox Pup Distress and shut it off.
In came this coyote on a dead run, past the call and heading towards me at the base of the bluff.
At about 35-40 yds, I kissed at him to stop him. I sent a 50 gr BT from my 700 VLS 22-250 on its way dropping him in his tracks. The 50 gr BT hit the off shoulder but didn't exit the young male's prime pelt.
