What are your thoughts on this scope for long range use? I got one for Christmas from my Grandson. I'm not real sure about the 1 minute elevation clicks. I suppose that I could use a combination of clicks and hold off since it has a Mil-Dot.

What model you got? I use a 10x with M3 turrets all the time and they are good scopes. Not the best tool for the job, especially for the price they run. In your case who can argue with free?!!! That's a great gift. I have a buddy that if asked what beer he likes his response is, "Free beer is always the best!".
The 1 MOA adjustments take a little getting used to. You just gotta know where to hold after you get adjusted for range and the mils help with that.
