Just got through breaking in my new Cooper Backcountry in 280 ai. This is my 3rd Cooper and I love this gun as much as my other two. This gun is super light and shoots lights out for the break in process. Next is finding the right load, I have a feeling it will like just about anything I put down it!!

I have the same rifle, mine loves the 160 partition factory load. Haven't gotten around to reloading for it yet but can't wait to see what it'll do. Mine killed 2 black bears last fall and did a wonderful job

My 280AI is the black one. I liked it so much I bought another in 6.5-284. I really like the woodland camo pattern. I think a FDE cerakote would look great on that one
Cooper makes a great rifle! This year makes 48 game animals taken out to 1188 yards with my Cooper....lost count of the varmints. This was its 7th season, approaching 1000 rounds, and still sinfully accurate. Shown harvest #1 in 2011, and #48 in 2017.

Both bears with my 280AI. Nothing near your distances Greyfox, mine was 40 yards and my brother in law was 35 yards.
