Hornady 200gr ELD-X loads for the 30-06

Well I couldn't find any 200gr ELD-X bullets but found some 212gr and I'm going to try them in one of my 30 cal mag rifles. Pretty long bullet @ 1.600"

Pretty heavy bullet in the 30-06
I use the 200 gr ELDX in my 300 Win and the 178 ELDX in my 30-06.

50.0 of IMR 4895 in the 30-06 with the 178 ELDX

And 72.0 of RL 22 in my 300 Win with the 200gr ELDX

I am also looking for info on 30:06 loads for 200 ELD-X..OAL in particular..Friend swears by 54 grains in RL-19..Want to try it as soon as I get correct numbers..THX FFX

I know RL22 works well with 30-06, I got good vel. with that, I would have to try RL26, I have heard of great vel with 270 with 150-160gr bullets (heavy for cal.) I have to believe RL26 would be great with 200 gr and above in '06.

Hornady new manual has data for 30-06, 200gr ELD-X and 16 powders list. I'll give you load data for R-19.

Start 50.6gr/R-19 @ 2200fps max 56.2gr/R-19 @ 2500fps and that from Win 70 with 1/10 twist barrel @ 23 3/4" using WLR Primer, COAL 3.340".

I've got some 200gr late last year and shot them in 30-338mag. Were about end of winter here in Co and start test those loads again. After looking at the data for 200gr, I'm going to get some 178gr ELD-X for my 30-06.

As I indicated earlier I was messing around with the 212 gr ELD-X but I ended up going with the 178 ELD-X. 62.2 gr of RL-26 behind that bullet averaged 2,900 fps with an ES of 14. That velocity equates to 3,324 ft lbs. Not too shabby out of a 30-06 even with a 26" barrel. Used Fed 210 primers with a jump of 0.030".

Thanks for posting. I picked up some R-26 today and it's first I've seen. I'm going to try that load in Bartlein barrel 30-06 @ 26" and I'll start around 57/58gr.

RL26 has become a go to powder for me. I use it in my 6.5 Creedmoor with fantastic results. Glad to see someone using it in the 06 as I will got it a go. Going to try it behind 178 ELD-X and a 168 Berger and Amax also in the 06. I'll report back.

That's moving!
I have some RL26 now, I think with 200 gr. bullets in my 30-06AI could be the ticket !

I topped out at 62 gr RL26
200 gr Hornady ELDX
Winchester case
Federal 210 primer
.010" jump
2750 FPS

This out of a Savage 110 with 22" sporter or featherweight barrel built in 1991.

Also tried load in Remington LR with 26" barrel and still no accuracy. Didn't bother getting velocity data on it in this rifle.

Since Accuracy wasn't there for me in either rifle, Im In the process of moving down to 60.5-61 gr.

I bought a Voere 300 H&H 26"and I am shooting a 200 gr eld x at 2710 fps. Do any one know what the drop will be at 750 yards
