Go to 6.5 bullet

View attachment 147509 This is my first time shooting Berger bullets.
Shot the Berger 156gr. EOL Elite Hunter over a MAX load of RL-17, Remington 9 1/2 primer, FL resized Hornady brass in the Savage Model 11 Long Range Hunter, 6.5 Creedmoor, 24" rifled BBL, 1-8 twist.
Should give me about 2650-2700FPS.
I have not touched a screw on this rifle other than to mount the scope.
Tried IMR 7828, it did not perform as well.
Waiting to try RL-26 with this bullet.
.
I like 4831sc with the heavies. I haven't tried the 156, I have a 147 load @ 2710 FPS with less than 100 rounds thru the barrel. I expect 2750 FPS or better once the barrel settles in.

Sounds good, what groups are you getting with 4831?
I have 4831 but have not tried it as if yet.
I was told by Berger that RL-26 gave the highest velocity (26" BBL.). Told me 2800fps for the 156gr.?
Sounds mighty fast to me.
I will need to load this load again and shoot it with my chronograph.
So far in my rifle I have found the 142 Nosler accubond and now the 156 Berger have shot the best as far as " hvy for caliber" bullets go.
120gr. A-Max shot as well in the lighter department.

It was half minute with 5 shots. I haven't even done a seating depth test yet. I will once I get another 100 rounds or so thru it. I figure RL 26 will be faster, but my smith that put my rifle together told me to try it, (h4831sc) he's got a bartlien barrel with 2000 rounds thru it, and the throat only moved half as much as h4350 did with his old barrel. It runs very cool, he's a prs shooter, and being a smith, he's hard on barrels lol.
I'm at 45.5 grains which is a compressed load, but Hodgdon calls for a compressed load.

I'm using 130 Accobonds in my CRDM and 6.5-284 with modest charges of RL-15 and H4831sc, respectively. These are low/medium node charges but they shoot quite nicely out to the ranges I can exploit, so I figure why burn the extra powder and why be harder on my equipment than I have to be?

For my 6.5x47, I am using the 143 ELD-X over a 36 grain Varget charge that has proven to be the bees knees! I really like the bullet but admittedly, have not seen its terminal performance yet.

I also like H4831sc in my 260 with the 142 smk's. Compressed load also. I can keep it to 2 1/2" at 500 if wind doesn't get crazy.

142 smk, not the highest .bc, been around forever, but the most consistent bullet I have shot in the 6.5 variables, 6.5x47, 260 rem, 6.5x284, and .260AI.

I have a 6.5x284 that loves the 140 Berger Hybrid and a 6.5CM that won't shoot them. Went back to the HNDY 140 ELD—M and it likes them.

Folks, please think about your posts. Those who mention their cartridge, load, build, distance and group size....thank you. Those whom just named a bullet, can you fill in some blanks.

I think bullet name is helpful when you list, barrel, action, velocity and group size @ distance.

Mine: Ruger M77 African 6.5x55 stock, 2650fps, 140 SST, meh 2" @ 100 yds....NOT HAPPY!

Working on an Accubond or ELDX load this weekend.

Sierra has made the 142 smk a small tip now. I plug in a G7 of .315 and it hasn't let me down out to 1200. Altitude 1254. 2900 fps with 27" barrel.

Looks like a lot of good choices. A friend of mine played with a savage stealth for a long time and was never satisfied. He tried the 140 Berger in front of h4350 and it was 1 hole groups. Very impressed with his ease of finding a good load with that bullet. Out of curiosity has anyone played with the 130 Sierra gamechanger and if so what we're the results
I have a 20" creedmoor shooting lapua brass crammed full of rl26 and shooting the 130 game changer. Haven't been able to shoot over a .5 moa group with it and over 2900 fps. Works great in that gun.

I just shot this load over my Chronograph, clocked at 2699fps and grouped .235" center to center.
Still think this is not bad for an untuned factory rifle.
I have not touched the action screws ever just mounted my Vortex Viper scope in Talley Light weight rings.
New to Berger Bullets and they will really have to step up to the plate to replace my Nosler Partitions or Accubonds.
