Well I think it's only fitting that this kinda makes me want to listen to David Allen Co's "The Ride"!!!

Started this venture back on January 1 of this year and since then I have learned more about this ride then ever expecting to know and 90% of it has been from this forum and Broz's forum. The ppl in this sport are amazing so far that I have met! Been shooting along time but never "long" range. Just an update on the progress of my rifle. I ordered a McMillan Game Warden stock, and I have refinished the wood stock that came on it till I can complete my rig but could still use the rifle to hunt with till I get all components. Was going to order a barrel from Hart and have them do all the work.....well a few weeks ago found out my wife and I will be having our 2nd child this dec! So I have to get a vehicle that will accommodate!! Which I am happy, love my family!!! So the rifle is taking a back seat. I have all components, except the barrel and I plan next summer to do that. But till then here are some pics of what the rifle looks like now.
MARK V 300Weatherby mag Delux (jap made) the finish is not perfect but for my first attempt at a refinish job I am happy with it!

I also want to say thanks so far for all the information and opinions everyone shared to this point and for any in the future!

Is the barrel on it shot out or you just want to upgrade to a better barrel? I would just shoot it the way it is and when your new stock comes in get it bedded and develop a good load for it and burn the factory barrel out before replacing it.

I had planned on going ahead and upgrading to something nice, a dream fun I guess you can say. I am thinking about putting some aluminum pillars(me instal) in the wooden one and have it bedded till I shot the barrel out also, but we will see. I personally think it's a very good looking rifle and will be a solid hunting rifle.

Did you cancel the order on your McMillan? I think even with your plan with bedding or with the McMillan it would still be good for long range.

If you can keep 3 in an inch id just leave it and like it. It still dosent get any better that that for the vast majority of l/r hunting. If you want different then get different, but leave that one alone.

I did not cancel my stock!!! It's just coming to me and not to Hart, and I am hoping I can develop a load that will shoot close to 1moa to under. And my father is big on me keeping like it is because he likes it
