Some recent threads got me wondering how many LRH members carry firearm insurance for full replacement?

I do carry additional insurance on firearms, but probably need to update the limits. Fire loss is a horrible thing to go through. Water damage would be my main issue due to fire suppression system in the house.

I am doing same since I have 2 recently built rifles not on policy.
I just never really thought about till recently now I'm trying to figure out what the best approach would be. Also been trying to learn a lot more about storage and fire sad options. I'm surprised at myself for as much time as I waste focusing on rifles how little I've thought about this subject.

I found most insurers will cover very little before they want serial numbers and even photos to keep on file. What have the rest of you found?

Same as you from State Farm. I have also found they want receipts and or bank records.
I talked to my agent about a policy a while back and really need to get back to it. They want a list with all serial numbers and values by a 3rd party. That's where it stalled for me. I told them that I would decide the values and provide under letterhead of my FFL name. They still wanted 3rd party. The rifles are covered under my contents as long as I have the log I believe. I am going to check on this tomorrow.
I've been told by the insurance agent to go thru the NRA. If thru regular insurance they need appraisal, serial #'s, & pictures
Can anyone Explain what a guy might be spending on say $10k/50k/100k worth of firearms insurance with the NRA route? I heard about it before but need to look into it.
