Finishing bolt nose recess on rem700

What do you guys do to finish the bolt nose recess on a Remington 700? Light knock off, slight chamfer, polish, etc? Thanks

Small chamfer to break the sharp edges. Polish with 600grit Emory then super fine scotchbrite pad. Also I crosshatch the chamber with 320grit dipped in oil wrapped on a plastic bic pen body.

I program a small radius for the chamber and a slightly larger one for the recess.

I cut a 60 degree relief on both and she'll feed as smooth as glass.

Good techniques guys. I normally just hit it lightly with a carbide 45 insert then polish with emory. havent tried the 60

I cut with the compound set at 25-30 degrees using a small solid carbide boring bar at 1200RPM, leaves it bur free and just light polish after that.

I love the finish when my lathe is spinning stuff at 1200 with carbide! Most times I leave it in the low gears though
