Tikka T3 Lite bolt nose clearance

Need to put a new barrel on a gentleman's Tikka T3 Lite 7mm Rem magnum and the current bolt nose clearance on the stock barrel and bolt nose is 0.020.

Can I decrease this clearance to 0.010-0.008 without worrying about the extractor or do Tikka's need this much clearance for their extractor?

lightbulb Try it and find out! Then you will know. That's what a "gunsmith" would do! It takes nothing to shorten a barrel tenon, if need be. The lessons learned from "trial and error" are the ones you won't forget!
