I know there is the 1000 yard range on Lejeune that is sometimes open, but there has never been much wind to play with when I have shot on the 500 yard ranges. I am sure its worse at 1000 where the bullet actually goes above the tree line but its still too ideal of conditions. There is the new range up in WV too, but that is way too long a trip.
What I am wondering about is actually practicing harder shots than a flat range, preferably somewhere in Eastern NC nearby, but I would be willing to take weekend trips somewhere else if needed.
