Hi folks

Not really a staking post but I thought I would share it.

I don't have much of an opportunity to stalk Fallow on my permissions as they don't really like the areas however I got a call from a mate the other morning for some urgent help with a stricken Fallow buck.

The buck had got entangled in some bailing twine and caught up on a fence in a prestigious local stud near to Newmarket (the home of horse racing)

Poor fellow had cracked his skull under the antler in his efforts to escape, he had also blinded himself in his eye!! I hate bailing twine it's the cause of too many incidents with deer and other mammals.

Anyhoo it took a while to get a safe backstop (some of the horses on this stud are worth millions of pounds not that there was a chance of hitting one but even noise was also a worry in case of spooking one. My .243 is moderated and the crisp cracked dropped the buck on the spot!

Job done. Poor lad was in good condition and only a youngster! Not a nice way to go.

Cheers folks 4EB90A37-4C4C-48A7-B8BD-3E5D606E2896.jpeg
