I've been trying to see pictures of the forearm of the new 2012 Savage precision Carbine with the threaded barrel. I'm wondering if the stock is like the one on the FCP-SR? When we look at the picture on the cover of the 2012 Savage catalog, the forearm of the FCP-SR is wider than the regular Accustock. Apparently, there is a version with a fluted barrel, anyone aware of this? I'm thinking of buying this rifle for my son and later convert it to 300 WSM, that would make a sweet hunting rifle! I have a spare Weaver tactical 3-15X50 that would be perfect for it. Please post your impressions and close-up pictures. Thanks.

Well that should be enough Pics!!!

I think those are great rifles, esp. for the money. I had intentions of getting one of those, but I ran across a Rem 700 5R Milspec in a gunshop, new for $999.00. I figured the price diff. was not that great, so went with the Rem. Have not shot yet but will very soon.

Try this link, I trained on a "GOOGLE FU MASTER" for about 15 years, so don't be upset if you find my skill superior.

I did the same search but none of these pictures are showing the forearm! The one that you see clearly the forearm are earlier version without the threahded muzzle and the forearm on those are slender like most hunting Accustock. I found a store in Saskachewan that has one. I'll phone and ask the question and... maybe give my credit card # and buy it!
